Paul Stenson - Your Tutor

Paul Stenson M.Sc Dip SCHM MIHI is lecturer in the Irish American University in Dublin’s Merrion Square. For over 7 years now, he has been offering individual French Tuition to both Leaving and Junior Certificate Students in his home in Terenure. His near native spoken French and vast knowledge of the language was acquired during his time in Lausanne, Switzerland as well as throughout his academic life.                

Paul focuses mainly on aspects of grammar in his grinds. He employs a building block model, the premise of which is that once a number of the main grammatical components of the language are learned, the correct combination of these will form sentences, which will then form paragraphs, then essays, and so on and so forth. He doesn’t believe learning reams and reams of material about, say, ‘the recession’ or ‘global warming’ is the way forward, as these topics may never come up. Instead he prefers to equip students with the necessary ingredients to handle any eventuality in the written, aural and oral examinations. Paul is currently in the process of writing a book on French Grammar.
